Sustainability policy

We recognise that our day-to-day activities impact the environment in both positive and negative ways. We wish to minimise any potentially negative effects wherever and whenever practicable and will work to secure business benefit from environmental protection.

We are passionate about the environment and our impact on future generations. Therefore, we work to minimise the impact of our operations through a continuous improvement programme in the management of our projects.

In particular we will:

  • Comply with and go beyond relevant existing environmental legislation and other legal and regulatory requirements
  • Aim to reduce any potentially harmful emissions
  • Seek to reduce the consumption of materials in our operations
  • Minimise water consumption, energy consumption and waste by ensuring our operations are as efficient as possible
  • Incorporate environmental considerations into the procurement of goods and services
  • Actively prioritise the use of recycled materials in our products
  • Build an environmental impact assessment into the development and end-use of our products
  • Exceed our duty of care requirements in relation to waste by ensuring the safe-keeping, transportation and subsequent recovery or disposal of waste (re-using and recycling wherever possible)
  • Keep sites clean and tidy to ensure minimum disturbance to the environment
  • Encourage members of staff to feedback to management about the company’s environmental performance through the creation of an Environmental Impact Group with clear targets

In order to maintain our commitment to environmental protection the Xennia team is required to:

  • Comply with the above policy
  • Ensure good housekeeping
  • Keep a clean and tidy site
  • Control and minimise waste
  • Conserve energy wherever practicable
  • Be aware of emergency procedures
  • Take measures to segregate relevant waste and avoid accidental mixing
  • Report any leaks or spillages immediately
  • Not pour any potentially damaging substances down drains
  • Switch off machinery when not in use

We recognise that the effective implementation of the policy represents an opportunity to improve the performance of the company by reducing environmental impact and increasing the efficiency of our operations, and to reduce the environmental impact of our customers.
