Inkjet Academy
Committed to knowledge sharing
As part of our commitment to sharing knowledge and best practice across the industry and its related business sectors, Xennia - in association with IMI Europe (Information Management Institute Europe) - runs professional development courses for inkjet chemists and engineers. These courses are designed to provide an understanding of inkjet printing technology fundamentals and insights into the major technology and systems that are essential to success as well as more in-depth practical experience.
Basic inkjet technology
The Inkjet Academy - Theory of Inkjet Technology course comprises one and a half days of the basic theory of all the diverse types of inkjet technology in use today. It explains how print heads work; what materials are used in their fabrication and the theory of operation; how inks are formulated and used; how inks interact with the substrate, and the supply and support systems used. Designed for those with a basic scientific knowledge, the Inkjet Academy provides a useful background for anyone entering the inkjet industry or seeking an efficient update of inkjet technology.
Advanced practical inkjet technology
In addition, Xennia's Inkjet Academy - Practice of Inkjet Technology course offers the first dedicated practical inkjet course aimed at chemists and technologists looking to develop and enhance their inkjet experience. This course draws upon Xennia's extensive industrial inkjet experience of ink formulation and industrial inkjet integration and combines in-depth classroom taught theory sessions with practical demonstrations and experiments. This enables course attendees to have the opportunity to formulate and evaluate inks and perform jetting trials with a range of high tech industrial printing platforms at Xennia's state-of-the-art inkjet laboratories located in Letchworth in the UK.
