Technology Development

Innovative chemistry and creative problem-solving, underpinned by a fundamental understanding of the inkjet printing process, is essential to a successful inkjet solution. At Xennia, our multi-disciplinary technical inkjet team is engaged in:

  • Undertaking feasibility programmes designed to find solutions for industrial application
  • Developing prototype production processes comprising engineering, chemistry and software solutions
  • Developing customised printers, modules and inks to help customers implement inkjet technology into their business

Unrivalled expertise

Our world-class team of chemists, physicists, material scientists and electrical, mechanical, software and production engineers provide unrivalled inkjet expertise and have successfully completed over 300 development projects for customers worldwide.

Flexible development

These assignments have ranged in size and complexity from proof-of-concept studies through to the development and supply of production line printers and inks. To ensure we stay customer-focused, our development services are highly flexible, with projects structured using key milestones to help manage technical and financial risk.

State-of-the-art laboratories

Our teams work in state-of-the-art inkjet laboratories with sophisticated inkjet characterisation equipment and printing fixtures. Our jet visualisation and measurement systems provide full characterisation of the droplet formation process, while advanced optical systems allow quantitative analysis of printed samples to ensure optimum results from developed inks and inkjet printing processes.

Small scale to full production capabilities

All of the necessary equipment for mixing, milling, dispersion and filtration is available in the laboratory, allowing rapid development of new formulations. Fully developed inks are then transferred to our ink production facility for volume supply to customers.

Open laboratory

Xennia operates an open laboratory programme where customers can utilise our inkjet characterisation equipment and expertise. This allows access to our state-of-the art facilities where customers can test the feasibility of any inkjet project, related substrates, printheads and inks early in a development cycle prior to moving forward.
